7. NEW BUSINESS:
A.
Discuss AHAC Report Recommendation - Provide a percentage of the
annual budget to assist with the acquisition and/or development of
affordable housing.
Mr. Grose stated a technical revision to the Minor Home Repair (MHR) grant was approved
by the State which increased funding from $20K to $30K. This was primarily done to cover
new requirements for septic systems (House Bill 1379).
The Commission approved funding in the 2025-2026 budget for AHAC which would be
used for Community Land Trust (CLT) acquisition and/or construction.
The 2025 AHAC annual report and the signed Bright Community Trust CLT agreement will
be taken to the November 17, 2025 Commission meeting for approval pursuant to Mr.
Grose.
8. STAFF COMMENTS:
Mr. Grose introduced a new employee to the housing team, Jessica Rodriguez-Garcia.
Mr. Hoppa advised all Committee Members that their term expires on December 31, 2025.
Members need to reapply via the city's website, if interested. The deadline to submit an
application is November 7, 2025. The City Commission would nominate/confirm
appointments to the AHAC Committee at the December 15, 2025 City Commission
meeting.
Mr. Hoppa confirmed there will not be any AHAC meetings for the remainder of the
calendar year.
