The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Avila.

A.  
Presentation - Fire Department presenting regarding Fire Stations  
Project. Presented by Fire Chief Bill Snyder.  
Fire Chief Snyder gave a presentation on Stations Project 2025, modernizing fire service  
infrastructure in Deltona, which included an overview of the project, operational  
challenges, individual station assessments, call volume, response time, why it matters,  
you have 3 minutes or less to escape a fire, what difference does 3 minutes make?,  
results of strategic station placement, current station locations, station  
realignment/addition, station development, project summary, and we build not only for  
today but for the future of the City.  
The Commission and the Fire Chief discussed moving and replacing the Diamond  
Street station, vacant land and buying up homes, uses for old stations, the logistics  
building, 911 calls, the need for additional stations, the cost and funding mechanism, fire  
impact fees, investing in capital improvements, response times, outdated buildings, the  
plan, turnout travel times, station design, new and proposed stations, projected  
performance, set standards, accreditation, increase projected performance, getting to a  
4 minute travel time, a volunteer station, reserves, problem with combat firefighters and  
reserves, the northwest and southwest parts of the City, red areas, road structure,  
working with county and unincorporated areas, ambulances/transport, and cohabitate  
fire station.  
The Mayor opened the public comments and residents addressed the City Commission.
