BACKGROUND:

Background

The City Commission on May 17, 2021, approved a similar agreement with the Volusia County Property Appraiser. This is when the Volusia County Property Appraiser was responsible for handling assessments on the tax bills. Now that the County has a constitutional Tax Collector, the agreement needs to be updated to reflect the proper parties.

There are no changes with the Volusia County Property Appraiser for the Utilization of the Uniform Method of Collection of the Non-Ad Valorem Assessments. This agreement is basic in nature and outlines the responsibilities of the Tax Collector in handling our Non-Ad Valorem Assessments. The cost per assessment unit charged by the Tax collector is fifty-five cents ($.55).
