BACKGROUND:

Background

On March 3, 2025, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 05-2025, which increased the minimum lot size for Planned Unit Developments (PUDs) from one acre to five acres. Staff now proposed to reinstate the one acre minimum to provide greater flexibility in site design and development, and to update the Permitted Use Table to clearly define allowable uses within PUD districts. At first reading, the Commission voted 4-2 in favor of these changes. The amendments are intended to support a wider range of development opportunities and ensure consistency with the City’s Comprehensive Plan. Staff recommends approval of Ordinance No. 34-2025 at second and final reading.
