BACKGROUND:
Background
The City Commission by Resolution set the Maximum Assessment Rates for Lake McGarity, Solid Waste, Stormwater, Streetlighting, and Nuisance Abatement as set on July 20, 2026. Staff reaffirm that these rates remain the same as the following resolutions.
Reaffirming Resolution No. 2026-55 – Establishing the Maximum Lake McGarity Annual Assessment.
The Lake McGarity Special Assessment District was established to provide aquatic weed control services for the Lake. The cost of those services is apportioned to properties that will benefit from those services and will be levied to the property owners.
Section 54-16 of the Code of Ordinances requires that the City Commission adopt an Annual Rate Resolution during its budget adoption.
The attached Resolution establishes the annual assessment of $0.00 per assessed parcel for FY2026/2027 for the Lake McGarity Assessments.
Reaffirming Resolution No. 2026-56 – Establishing the Maximum Solid Waste Annual Assessment.
The Solid Waste Utility is funded by fees levied to the property owners to fund operation needs.
The attached Resolution only establishes the stormwater annual assessment of $287.76 per benefitted parcels for FY2026/2027 per F.S. 197.3632.
