BACKGROUND:

Background

This is a request for the City Commission to approve the Master Fee Schedule that incorporates changes in the Parks and Community Events fees.  Staff reviewed the pricing of similar recreation programs, activities, and events throughout Central Florida and comparable markets to develop the attached Market Value Ranges. These ranges reflect the average costs associated with planning and producing recreation programs, activities, and events of similar scope and complexity.

Discussion

Staff are requesting approval of the proposed Fee Schedule outlined. The Market Value Ranges serve as a benchmark for pricing and cost recovery.

Staff are also developing a comprehensive Event Policy that will:

•       Define community event classifications.

•       Establish market value guidelines, including fixed fees and fee ranges.

•       Explain cost recovery and revenue considerations.

•       Identify and document costs associated with City-supported events.

Staff recommends approval of the proposed Parks & Recreation Fee Structure, the proposed Parks & Recreation Budget, the proposed Community Events Budget, and the continued development of the Event Policy.
