BACKGROUND:
Background
The City is updating its rental regulations to improve safety, protect property values, and ensure better management of both long-term and short-term rentals.
• Residential Rentals: Property owners must register, obtain a one-time inspection certificate, and confirm property condition every three years. Inspections are also required when tenants change.
• Vacation/Short-Term Rentals: Owners must register their properties. While the City can't limit how often or how long they're rented (due to state law), it can regulate issues like noise, parking, and safety.
