BACKGROUND:

Background

The City of Deltona and the District entered into the Alternative Water Supply Cost-Share Agreement on January 29, 2020. Construction was commended on January 14, 2022; in April 2022 there was the discovery of an “artesian well (boil)” as well as elevated groundwater pressure conditions. The City halted construction due to these unforeseen construction conditions. The City pursued a number of alternative methods along with exploration of other locations to continue the project. It was determined that the project was un-constructable and notified the District of this final determination on April 9, 2024.
