City Resolution No. 2007-04 At the May 7, 2007 Regular Meeting, the Deltona City Commission approved Resolution No. 2007-04 which established an Economic Development Advisory Board to study economic issues and make recommendations to the City Commission on programs involving the economic development of the City. Meetings are held as needed, quarterly at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room, any changes will be announced. MEMBERSHIP: The Board shall consist of seven (7) voting members appointed by individual members of the City Commission. The appointments, to the extent possible, shall have the broadest representation from people involved with interest in the various and diverse aspects of economic development activities, and having backgrounds, experience, talents and expertise in economic development that would be beneficial to the City and community. TERM OF OFFICE: Indivduals appointed to this Board serve one-, two- or three-year terms in a non-paid capacity and the voting members must be residents of the City of Deltona, business owners in Deltona, or own commercial property in Deltona. Non-voting members serve three-year terms and may be non-resident managers or owners of property or businesses located within the City. OFFICERS: The members of the Board shall elect a Chairperson and a Vice-Chairperson at the first regular meeting of the Board. They shall serve in those positions for a period of one year. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The purpose of this Board is to: 1. Perform research into Commission assigned sub-committee topics. 2. Present recommendations to City Commission on issues and programs involving economic development. (The Board recommendations shall be advisory only). 3. The Board shall explore funding sources for economic development activities.
